The 2018-19 school year will begin
Thursday, August 9 for students in the Allen County School District. To help
students and parents prepare for the return to the classrooms, each school will
have open house events and orientations beginning in late July.
The Allen County Primary Center will have Open House for
kindergarten students on Monday, July 30. The classrooms of Cindy King, Heather Mitchell, Karen
Stinson, Rachel Gammons, and Daphne Mitchell will have Open House from 3 until
5 p.m. followed by Open House for the classrooms of Sarah
Reynolds, Freda Rigsby, Lisa Kirby, and Jean Anne Williams from 5:30 until 7:30. Open House for preschool, first, second, and third
grade students will be from 4 until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31. Parents are
encouraged to attend and meet the teachers.
The Allen County
Intermediate Center will have Open House for all students on Tuesday,
July 31. The Open House will start at 5 and last until 7 p.m. for the fourth,
fifth, and six graders. Teachers will be in their classrooms to meet and greet
their incoming students.
The James E.
Bazzell Middle School will have Seventh Grade Orientation on Thursday,
August 2 starting at 5 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. Eighth Grade Orientation
and Open House will be Monday, August 6, starting at 5 p.m. at the school. Students
and parents are encouraged to attend to receive schedules and information.
Allen
County-Scottsville High School will have Open House for all students from 4 until 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 2. Incoming freshman and parents should note that a Freshman Orientation session will began at 5 p.m. in the auditorium. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be able to pick up their schedules in the cafeteria upon their arrival. Club Rush---a time when parents can learn more about clubs at ACSH and students can join clubs---will also be held in the gymnasium during Open House.
Parents/guardians of children
that will be newcomers to the Allen County School District are encouraged to
enroll their child/children as soon as possible. Parents can contact the school
the child will be attending to begin the enrollment process.
