The traditional Class Night at Allen County-Scottsville High School is scheduled
for Saturday, May 19 at Patriot Gym. The Class of 2018 seniors will walk-out
during formal introductions---the opening to an evening of special
entertainment from senior class members and remarks from senior class officers.
Class Night begins at 5:30.
Each senior participating in Class Night receives four (4) passes to
distribute to family members. For family members with passes, doors open at 4:30.
Persons with passes may enter at that time through the high school’s rear doors—the
doors next to the cafeteria behind the school. Once persons with passes are in
the building, the general public may enter through the side and rear doors of the
school.
The handicap entrance for the event will be at the office area at the front
of the school and will open around 4:30 that afternoon. Senior class sponsors
and school staff will assist handicap attendees in finding lower-level floor seating.
The Class of 2018 selected
“Won’t Let Go” by Black Stone Cherry as the class song. Class colors are red
and silver. The class flower is the Osiria Rose. The class motto is “Hakuna
Matata” (a
Swahili phrase from Tanzania which is roughly translated “no worries”).
Class Night activities will include the announcement of the winner of
three major awards----Outstanding Senior, Citizenship, and Service to School
and Community awards. The annual Junior-Senior Prom will follow Class Night
activities. The prom will start at 7:30 at The Glea at Harper Farms.
Graduation for the 225-member Class of 2018 is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
on Friday, May 25. For graduation, doors will open at 5:30 with entry and
seating on a first-come basis.
