Band Opens Festival Season

The Allen County-Scottsville Patriot Band officially started their 2017 festival season Saturday at the South Central Kentucky Marching Band Classic at Glasgow High School. AC-S placed third overall in the festival featuring 12 schools.

The Patriot band earned a score of 65.95, approximately six points below the score of grand champion, Class 4A Barren County (71.55). Class 3A school John Hardin recorded a score of 66.45 to place second in the field.

In addition to third overall and second in the Class 3A division, the Patriot band earned recognition for best guard and best percussion in Class 3A.

This year’s festival show revolves around the classic story of Peter Pan from the view of the story’s lost boys. The band is under the field command of Nathaniel Stinson.

AC-S returns to the competition venue of Saturday, September 23 when the band participates in the Mid States Band Association Marching Band Contest at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville.
