ACS Swim Participates in Bowling Green Meet

  The Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriot swim team finished fifth and the Patriot swim team placed sixth Saturday at the Best of the West swim meet at Bowling Green High School. The event featured teams from Bowling Green, Greenwood, South Warren, Hopkinsville, Butler County, Glasgow, Warren East, Logan County, Muhlenberg County, Franklin-Simpson, Warren Central, and AC-S. 

  Lady Patriot swimmer Katelyn Rough recorded a time of 31.44 to finish 20th in the field of 69 swimmers for the 50y freestyle. Rough’s time was a 0.26 improvement over her seed time coming into the meet. Mattie Tuttle notched a time of 34.17 with Shelby Costello posting a time of 37.74, a 3.29 improvement. Ella Rickard had a time of 43.48, a 2.36 drop in time. In the 64-swimmer field for the 100y freestyle, Rachel Meador placed 15th after a time of 1:05.40. Rough posted a time of 1:11.31, a 0.66 drop in time. Tuttle dropped 5.02 seconds in the event and finished in the time of 1:14.79. Audrey Moore posted a time of 1:25.81. 

  In the girls 100y fly, Sarah Hartman was sixth with the time of 1:15.41 and Allison Davis placed 12th in the time of 1:26.34, a drop of 1.08 from her seed time. In the 100y backstroke, Sarah Hartman was 12th with a time of 1:15.63 with Rickard having a time of 1:15.04, a 13.13 second drop in time. Sarah Davis placed eighth in the 100y breaststroke (1:22.21) with Leah Hartman ninth (1:24.42). Costello also had a time of 1:51.19 in the event. 

  In the girls 200y medley relay, Sarah Hartman (backstroke), Sarah Davis (breaststroke), Leah Hartman (butterfly), and Meador (freestyle) posted a time of 2:18.25 to place sixth in the event. The second Lady Patriot team in the event included swimmers Tuttle (backstroke), Costello (breaststroke), Allison Davis (fly), and Rough (free). The group recorded a time of 2:40.97 to finish in 10th position and dropped 2.15 seconds from their seed time. 

  In the girls 200y free relay, AC-S’s Meador, Sarah Davis, Sarah Hartman, and Leah Hartman finished in seventh place after a time of 2:01.35. The team of Allison Davis, Costello, Tuttle, and Rough posted a time of 2:24.38. The 400y free relay team of Moore, Sarah Davis, Allison Davis, and Meador recorded a time of 4:49.31. 

  Individual Patriot results showed several strong finishes and time improvements. Patriot Tad Koltin Taylor finished in fourth place in the 50y freestyle in the field of 42 swimmers. Taylor posted a time of 25.47 in the event. Anthony Carranco had a time of 36.47 and Drew Long finished the event in the time of 40.64. In the boys 200y IM (Individual Medley), Aaron Shain placed 12th after posting a time of 2:37.23, dropping 1.81 seconds from his seed time. Shain (1:01.56) was 13th in the 100y freestyle, an event that included 40 swimmers. Carranco dropped 4.66 seconds to finish with a time of 1:23.58 while Long posted a time of 1:39.35.  In the 100y backstroke, Wessly Butler recorded a time of 1:23.84. Bradley Wagoner was 15th in the 100y breaststroke (1:30.66) 

  The Patriot 200y free relay team placed seventh in the time of 1:55.51. The team included Taylor, Butler, Wagoner, and Shain. The 400y relay team was seventh in the time of 5:14.27. Swimmers included Taylor, Carranco, Long, and Butler. 

 Times and results were not available for the 200y girls and boys free relay, the girls IM, and the boys medley relay.
