Allen County-Scottsville cross country runners Tad Koltin Taylor and Sarah Davis led the way for the Patriot and Lady Patriot cross country teams Saturday in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Class 2A, Region 2, meet at the Hardin County Fairgrounds near Elizabethtown. Taylor led the Patriot runners to a 10th-place team finish while Davis led the Lady Patriots to a ninth-place result.

Taylor covered the 5K course in a time of 19:24.16 to finish in 21st place in the boys’ field of 86 runners representing 16 schools. His time was seventh fastest among the sophomore runners taking part in the meet.  According to AC-S coach Paul Spears, Taylor missed qualifying to run in the state championship meet this week by “two feet.”

Lady Patriot Sarah Davis covered the 5K course in a time of 24:04.47 to place 35th in the 83-runner field. Sarah Davis’s time was the fourth fastest by a seventh-grader. Placing second among AC-S girls was Gabrielle Tangen with a time of 25:35.50. Additional Lady Patriot runners in the competition included Allison Davis (25:57.57), Sally McPherson (26:47.43), Lydia Goosetree (27:18.20), and Taylor Temple (32:12.13).
