New Guidance Counselor Announced

Mann

Veteran educator Cyndi Mann has been selected as the new guidance counselor at the James E. Bazzell Middle School. Mann replaces Pat Jackson who retired at the end of the 20-21 school year.

Mann graduated from Caverna High School in 1990. She received a Bachelor's Degree at Western Kentucky University in 1996 and returned to WKU to obtain a Masters in School Counseling in 2002. She also earned a Rank 1 in School Counseling in 2020.

Helping youngsters and adults has been the driving ambition for Mann in the educational field.

“I love helping people and have a particular interest in helping young people,” Mann said. “We can give them hope when they are down and give them tools and guidance to help them become the adults they aspire to be. Life is short; I would like to make a positive difference while I am here.”

As the new guidance counselor starts her role at JEBMS, she assures students and parents that she stands ready to help students.

“Students and parents can expect me to help them in any way I can,” Mann explained. “Initially I will be working hard to get to know them all so they are comfortable with me. I will be visiting classrooms but also have a Google site to help them and also simple ways for them to contact me. I will work hard to let them know they are important, cared about, and have value. I will also work hard to meet their social, emotional, and vocational/career needs and help them reach their goals.”

Mann and her husband (Chris) have been married for 26 years. The Mann’s are the parents of two children---a son who just graduated from WKU and is starting his career as a mechanical engineer and a daughter who will be attending WKU to study molecular biotechnology.

Away from the school environment, Mann enjoys learning, helping others, reading, playing board games and cards, riding roller coasters, road trips, and studying the Bible.
