For decades, a tradition for graduating seniors in Allen County has been Class Night. Prior to the annual junior-senior prom, seniors walk out in their formal attire in front of their classmates, family, and friends. The special evening introduces the soon-to-be graduates to the community, allows class members to share their talents, offer remembrances, and creates precious lifetime memories.

This year, Class Night is Saturday, April 27 starting at 5:30 in Patriot Gym. Approximately 140 seniors will participate in Class Night. Mr. and Miss Allen County-Scottsville High School---Blayne Tracy and Katelyn Rough---will be the first couple introduced followed by the other 19 superlative pairs. The remaining seniors are introduced after which the program begins.

The gym will be decorated in the Class of 2024 colors (royal blue, white, and gold) while the class song (Good Times Go By Too Fast by Dylan Scott) is played quietly in the background. The class flower is Ornamental Cauliflower and the class motto is “Life’s hard, but it’s harder if you’re stupid.”  (The Friends of Eddie Coyle, George V. Higgins.)

Seniors need to arrive by 4:15. Any senior running late must contact senior advisor Maegan Renick to share an approximate arrival time. Seniors need to enter the building at the rear cafeteria doors. Senior class sponsors also remind seniors that all pictures need to be taken prior to arrival. In addition, if a senior forgets an item or has a need, they should contact a senior sponsor. Only seniors, junior escorts, and advisors are allowed to be with the seniors while they wait for the activities to start.

Senior parents/guardians will receive four special passes, which will allow early entrance into the gym and designate the side of the gym their senior will be seated for the program. Seniors walk out from the wall end of Patriot Gym and are seated on the home side of the gym (Patriot Academy side) or the visitors’ side (main school side).

“Per our traditional custom, each senior will be given four passes,” explained Renick “These guarantee four guests early entry and preferential seating. Guests with passes may enter the student driver's entrance door (door #25) near the cafeteria at 4:45. Each pass will indicate which side of the gymnasium (home or visitor side) that your senior will be seated. Once all of the individuals with passes have been let into the building, we will open all doors (door #33 & #25) for the public. This will be at approximately 5:00.”
Class Night guests who require special seating due to age, medical, or health concerns may enter at 4:30 but must enter at the school’s front entrance and follow specific guidelines. Senior advisors will seat the guests at the side of the floor.

“The elderly/disabled will be entering at door 1,” Renick added. “If they require assistance, they may be accompanied by one individual. This will be strictly enforced.”

For anyone not able to attend, Class Night will be live-streamed via the Allen County Schools YouTube page (ACS Allen County Schools). https://www.youtube.com/@acsallencountyschools6103

Parking will be in the back parking lot for everyone except elderly/disabled. Advisors ask that the front of the school be reserved for the elderly and disabled.

Following Class Night, prom will be held at The Glea at Harper Farms. The prom will last from 7:30 until 11:00. Starting at midnight, participating seniors will return to the high school for Up All Night---a six-hour lock-in event filled with games and fun activities. Up All Night is organized senior parents.
