ACSH Seniors Honored at WKU

Ten seniors from Allen County-Scottsville High School were among 41 students from six southcentral Kentucky counties honored by Western Kentucky University Tuesday for their academic achievements.

Seniors Isaiah Burciaga, Cullen Carver, Preston Clark, Cameron Cook, Mckenzie Grissom, Daniel Monterrosas, Madeline Payne, Austen Riffe, Carly Wheat, and Ginny Willoughby were recognized October 13 at WKU’s Augenstein Alumni Center during a luncheon sponsored by Franklin Bank & Trust Company.

The group honored Tuesday included students from Allen, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, and Simpson counties. Together the group has an average ACT composite score of 28 and a grade-point average of 3.88. The group includes 16 Kentucky Governor’s Scholars---including Burciaga, Clarke, Cook, Payne, and Wheat from AC-SH---and one National Merit Semifinalist.

Outstanding students from schools in Warren County, Barren County, and areas surrounding Owensboro, Elizabethtown, Louisville, Lexington, and Northern Kentucky will be recognized at similar luncheons later in the fall.
