ACS Travels to Monroe County

The Allen County-Scottsville Patriots will seek their first win of the year Friday night when the team travels to Monroe County for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Darrell Carter Stadium. AC-S (0-2) is coming off a 35-27 loss to Greenwood last Friday while Monroe County (1-1) enters Friday fresh off a 33-27 win over Warren East.

The Patriots will be led by junior Chase Wilson. In the first two games of the year, Wilson has completed 32 of 56 passes for 600 yards. Wilson set a single game yards passing record in the season-opener verses Daviess County (325) and established a record for most completed passes in a game (17) last Friday verses Greenwood.

Wilson’s principal receivers will be seniors Jack Ward and Colton Cox. Ward has 16 catches for 266 yards this year, an average of 16.6 yards per catch. Ward is also averaging 133 yards receiving per game. Cox has nine receptions this year for 229 yards. Senior back Jaylon McPeak also has six receptions for 60 yards. McPeak leads the team in rushing with 134 yards on 29 carries this year.

The Falcons are led by quarterback Ty Link. In his first two games of the year, Mink has completed 18 of 33 passes for 374 yards. Last week, Mink threw for 260 yards in the Falcons’ six-point win against Warren East.

Friday’s matchup will be the 27th in the series dating back to 1986. Monroe County owns a 17-9 series lead. The Falcons have won three of the past four meeting including a 27-6 victory last year in Scottsville. However, AC-S defeated Monroe County 40-21 in their last game played in Tompkinsville.
