Archers Shoot in Warm Up Event

   Team and individual results have been released from Saturday’s Warren East Mask Up State Warmup---the first time this archery season and in a calendar year that archers from the Allen County School District have competed at an in-person archery event. 

 

   James E. Bazzell Middle School archers placed third in a field of six after posting a score of 2993 out of a possible 3600. The sixth-grade team from the Allen County Intermediate Center was fifth with a score of 2591. Butler County Middle School scored 3251 to take first place. 

 

   For the Bazzell Middle School, eighth-grader Quinn Hartman led the way with a 269. Ella Fox (262) and Allie Matlock (252) were the next highest shooting eighth grade females. For eighth grade males, the top Bazzell shooters were Andrew Woods (249), Aidan Stone (242), and Tanner Swygart (236). In seventh grade, the top three females for Bazzell were Lexis Loggins (254), Hayley Ditlevson (245) and JoyDale Williams (237). The top males’ scorers were posted by Carter Douglass (249), Tyler Marsh (247), and James Fisher (245). 

 

   Additional archers for the middle school team participating were Shyla Houchens (240), Keagan Petty (239), Karissa Perdue (232), Landon Uhles (227), Alicia Fox (223), Weston McCoy (219), Adalyn Skipworth (216), Olivia Nelson (213), Isaac Straughn (212), Isabella Roberts (211), Foster Berry (210), and Joshua McLean (179). 

 

   The top female archers for the sixth-grade shooters were Adalyn Smith (222), Taylor Uhles (218), and Madison Dickerson. Highest scoring male shooters were Kadan Carter (251), Jacob Farrar (238), and Clayton Jones (226). Additional archers participating were Will Cannon (217), Matthew Traughber (217), Isaiah Law (204), Skylan Stroebel (202), Aiden Blankenship (194), Braylen Hart (193), Thomas Boaz (189), Brian Hayes (181), and Kalea Perdue (177). 

 

   From Allen County-Scottsville High School, seven archers competed as individuals---as 12 shooters were needed for a team score to be recorded. Calvin Smith led the way with a 277 followed by Cole Meador with a 268. Additional shooters and scorers were Wessly Butler (243), Caelan Fox (238), Shelby Hughes (226), Dylan Stroebel (210), and Amber Smith (199).

 

   This weekend, 72 archers from the Allen County School District will be in Louisville for the Kentucky NASP® state tournament. Overall, 5,685 archers from across the Commonwealth are scheduled to participate in the daylong event at the Kentucky Exposition Center. 

 

   Allen County will have an elementary team (fourth and fifth graders) in the Elementary Division, two teams competing in the Middle School Division, and a high school squad shooting in the High School Division. The competitions---both Bullseye and ISO 3D---will be throughout the day Saturday at the spacious exhibition hall.  

 

   COVID guidance will be in place, masks required, and attendance will be limited. It is strongly recommended that each archer only bring two individuals with them, but allowances will be allowed for archers with two sets of parents. Extended family members (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) are not permitted. Folding chairs will be needed for seating. The parking cost is $10 per vehicle.
