A 10-hit offensive attack and a combined two-hit pitching performance
carried the Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriot softball team to a 9-0
shutout of Monroe County Tuesday in Tompkinsville.
Starter Kris-Anne Pardue
worked four innings, threw 59 pitches, surrounded two hits, and recorded six
strikeouts. Karley Burchett pitched the final three innings, allowing no runs
and no hits by the nine batters she faced.
Offensively, three RBI’s by
Madi Gregory and KayLee Stafford and two RBI’s off the bat of Jordan Anderson
helped AC-S record their second district win of the season. Jae McReynolds led
the Lady Patriots with three hits with Stafford and Taylor Stamps adding two
hits on the day.
AC-S pushed lone runs across
the plate in the first and second innings before exploding for five runs in the
fourth. Singles by Bailey Ausbrooks, McReynolds, Anderson, and Stamps ignited
the Lady Patriot offense. A two RBI double by Gregory and a Monroe County error
gave AC-S a 7-0 lead. A pair of walks and a two-run single by Stafford lifted
AC-S to a 9-0 lead in the top of the seventh.
The Lady Patriots (9-1) are
slated to host Bowling Green (2-2) Wednesday before traveling to Logan County
(4-0) on Thursday.
