The Allen County-Scottsville High School track team opened their 2017 season last week in competition at the Warren East All-Comers at Warren East High School. The meet featured 13 teams from across southcentral Kentucky.
Lady Patriot results included a ninth place finish by A.J. Wilson in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:10.80. Nina Guerrero placed 26th in the same event in the time of 1:20.55. Shy Grainger posted a time of 1:27.96 and Abbie King had a time of 1:41.88 in the event as well.
Guerrero finished ninth in the 1600m run (6:32.35) while Hannah Cook (7:21.38) and Gabrielle Tanger (7:21.83) also ran in the 1600. Grainger placed eighth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 1:08.96. Cook posted a time of 1:23.87. Macayla Vernon was 19th in the 100m hurdles (21.23) with Cook having a time of 30.00. In the 100m dash, Guerrero was 32nd in the time of 15.38, Alyson Maynard was 36th with a time of 15.61 and Grainger placed 37th in the time of 15.72.
In girl relay events, the Lady Patriot 4x100 team of Wilson, Vernon, Maynard, and Shelly Snyder posted a time of 1:01.72 to place 14th.
Field event results show a tenth place finish for Wilson in the long jump (13’03.50”), an 11th place for Sarah Sutton in shot put (23’09.50”), and a 21st place for Guerrero in the shot put (20’09.00”).
For the Patriots, Seth Latimer placed 11th in the 100m dash with a time of 11.91. Kelly Weger (12.69), Daniel Toby (13.10), and Joey Bandy (14.16) also competed in the 100m dash. In the 400m dash, Garren Duhon had a time of 1:07.24, Tad Taylor posted the time of 1:07.57 and Keljuan Galloway had the time of 1:15.00. In the 1600m run, Taylor was 26th in the time of 5:38.54, Jagger Waters had a time of 5:53.93, Davi Thompson posted a time of 6:03.76) and Duhon recorded a time of 6:04.31.
In the 110m hurdles, Latimer secured a seventh place finish with a time of 19.37 while Galloway posted the time of 24.13. Latimer was 10th in the 300m hurdles (50.88) while Galloway had a time of 1:01.56 in the event,
In relay action, the AC-S team of Toby, Chase Ward, Weger, and Jacob Lightfoot was 11th in the 4x100 with a time of 49.82. The 4x200 team finished seventh in the time of 1:40.43.
Ward placed ninth in the high jump (5’0”) followed by Conner Davenport (4’10”). Taylor also had a jump of 4’8” in the event. In long jump, Toby leaped 15’06.50 to finish in 20th position. Jacob Kinslow jumped 15’04” while Gabe McGuffey (11’03”) and James Jackson (10’11.00”) also took part in the long jump. Thompson was eighth in triple jump (36’02.50”) with Kinslow leaping 32’07.00”. Dillon Reid was tenth in the shot put (35’06.00”) and Austin Woods recorded a throw of 24’08.00”.
The AC-S track team will run Thursday at a meet at Glasgow High School.
