Cross Country Off and Running

   Behind a one-two finish from junior Tad Kolton Taylor and eighth-grader James Tyler Stanger, the Patriot cross country team took top honors in the five-team Barren County All-Comers meet Thursday afternoon at the Terry Reed course at Barren County High School. On the ladies side, a second place run by eighth-grader Sarah Davis and a fifth-place from senior Sally McPherson powered the girls’ team.

   Taylor placed first in the 4K event, covering the course in a time of 15:04.14. Stanger finished 10 seconds behind in the time of 15:14.47. In addition, senior Davi Thompson was eighth in the 47-runner field with a time of 17:43.30. Senior Conner Davenport placed 16th in a time of 18:31.81 with junior Jeff Haney finishing in 18:59.30. Additional runners and their times were seventh-grade runners Alex Stamps (22: 03.78) and Houston Porter (26:50.66). 

   Davis posted a time of 19:22.71 to place second in the 37-runner event with McPherson coming across the line in the time of 20:49.77. Senior Madi Gregory was 17th, posting a time of 23:50.92. Seventh-graders Kiana White (24:17.10) and Morgan Jones (27:38.43) also participated in the event. 

   The All-Comers event also included a 3K event for elementary runners. Sixth-grader D.J. Fields placed second (8:24.56) while classmate Grant Morgan (8:39.45) was fourth. 

  

Purple Striders

   Junior Tad Kolton Taylor and eighth-grader James Tyler Stanger finished in the top 15 in the varsity run and senior Sally McPherson was among the top 25 ladies at the Purple Striders Invitational cross country run Saturday at Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green. 

   In the 112-runner boys’ field, Taylor placed 14th in a time of 18:36. Stanger was within a step, placing 15th after covering the 5K course in a time of 18:39. Additional Patriot runners and their times were Davi Thompson (22:03), Jeff Haney (23:26), and Conner Davenport (24:26). 

   Among the 57 female runners, McPherson placed 24th with a time of 26:36. Madi Gregory also completed and posted a time of 28:28. 

   Four runners from Allen County participated in the boys 3K run. Grant Morgan posted a time of 15:38, D. J. Fields had a time of 16:27, Alex Stamps finished in 17:00, and Houston Porter had a time of 19:04. 

   AC-S runners return to action Thursday at Barren County.
