Youngsters in the Allen County School District will benefit from the generous effort from workers at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green.
Last week, the Allen County Schools’ Family Resource and Youth Service Center (FRYSC) program accepted a $500 check from the Union Label Committee, Local 2164 of the assembly plant. Looking for a way to help students returning to the classrooms, the committee conducted a raffle within their organization to raise funds. Once completed, the group selected Allen County Schools because a member of the group has kids who attend the Allen County Primary Center.
The donation was accepted by Melissa Biggerstaff, the Chief Academic Officer for Allen County Schools as well as FRYSC staff Amy Pitchford, Rhonda Kircher, Angel Clark, and Hannah Erwin. The donation will be used to help purchase school supply items for distribution to students who have needs this school year.
