Archers Compete at State

    Corbin Ford, Madison Dickerson and Hayley Ditlevson led the way as archers from the Allen County Intermediate Center (ACIC) and the James E. Bazzell Middle School (JEBMS)  participated in both the Kentucky NASP® State Bullseye and the NASP® ISO/3D State Tournament last Friday at the Kentucky Exhibition Center in Louisville. 

 

    Ford---a fifth grader at ACIC---was the highest scoring archer in the IBO 3D elementary division after recording a score of 269 out of a possible 300. Ford was also sixth in Bullseye with a score of 273 or a possible 300. 

 

   The young archer was also the highest scoring male archer from Allen County in both bullseye and 3D competition (269). Dickerson (261) was the highest female scorer from Allen County in bullseye (261) with Ditlevson the highest young lady in 3D (249). 

 

    Overall, the ACIC Elementary Team posted a combined score of 2774 our of 3600, which ranked 15th out of 99 teams. The ACIC Sixth graders scored 2,742 which ranked 142 of 156 in the middle school division. The JEBMS middle school team was 83rd out of 156 teams with a score of 2,981. 

 

    Breaking down the Allen County scorers by grade level, results for fourth grade boys were Ty Elmore (235), Tanner Brown (224), and Owen Painter (222). Top scoring girl fourth graders were Landry Monroe (203) and Holly Ditlevson (170). For fifth grade, top girls were Carson Bates (232), Alexa Stovall (228), and Alayna Hart (202) with the top boys being Corbin Ford (273), Jamie Brown (247), and Eli Towe (246). 

 

   In sixth grade girls, scores included FaithAnna Williams (239), Emma Spears (237) and Silas Schwartz (230). For boys, scores were Izaiah Johns (240), Parker Rossetter (236), and Bryson Weaver (234). 

 

   The top seventh grade archers were Madison Dickerson (261), Adalyn Smith (225), and Kalea Perdue (206) for the females and Jacob Farrar (266), Braxton Grizzle (251), and Clayton Jones (240). Top eighth graders were Lexis Loggins (257), Hayley Ditlevson (255), and JoyDale Williams (226) and Tyler Marsh (259), James Fisher (253), and Keagan Petty (240). 

 

   In the 3D competition, top shooting fourth grade girls were Landry Monroe (181) and Holly Ditlevson (170) and Ty Elmore (249), Hagan Gammons (221), and Owen Painter (209) in the boys. In fifth grade, top females were Alexa Stovall (215), Alayna Hart (161), and Anna Rossetter (142) as well as Corbin Ford (269), Jamie Brown (238), and Colton Sanspree (215). 

 

   Top 3D shooters in sixth grade included girls FaithAnna Williams (248), Emma Spears (196), and Brookelynn Keen (191) and boys Tanner Reid (233), Parker Rossetter (227), Brae Gann (224), and Camden Steenbergen (217). In middle school seventh grade, top JEBMS shooters were Madison Dickerson (230), Adalyn Smith (224) and Abigail Cherry (208) as well as Jacob Farrar (257), Braxton Grizzle (227), and Will Cannon 222. Top eighth grader archers included Hayley Ditlevson (249), Lexis Loggins (242), and JoyDale Williams (202) with the top make shooters being Tyler Marsh (260)

James Fisher (245) and Carter Douglas (236). 

 

   Final team standings in 3D show that the ACIC elementary team was ranked fifth of the 16 teams in competition with a score of 1,373. The ACIC sixth grade team had a score of 1.330 while the 

JEBMS Middle School Team scored 1489, placing 23rd in the 46-team field. In addition to Ford’s top ranking, Elmore was 14th and Brown was 20th. Stovall was 39th---all among the top 10 in the state per division/gender after completion of the entire event. 

 

   The teams may have qualified to participate in the 2022 NASP® Eastern Nationals which will be held May 12-14 in Louisville. An announcement will be made around April 10. Final positions and overall scorers from archers across the nation are used in determining teams that can participate in the national event.
