DECA Students Win Mutiple Awards at Region

ECA 2024

      The Allen County-Scottsville High School DECA Club took part in the Regional Conference on Friday, January 26 at Western Kentucky University. The AC-SHS contingent included 31 students---all of whom earned the opportunity to advance to the State Conference in March. 

 

   First Place winners included Allison and Sarah Davis in Buying and Merchandising Operations Research, Leticia Tenorio-Lopez in Finance Operations Research, Valerie Koller and Helena Mehner in Franchise Business Plan, Kanan Carver in Start-Up Business Plan. Jackson Smith in Principles of Business Administration, Raelynn Donovan in Principles of Hospitality, Kaitlyn Rather in Financial Consulting, Sarah Beth Wright in Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling, Houston Porter in Professional Selling, and Atley Atwood and Shayna Britt in Financial Services Team Decision Making. 

 

  Second place awards were earned by Allie Smith and Kadence Strain in Hospitality Services Team Decision Making, Barton Rutledge in Business Finance, Katelyn Ausbrooks in Business Services Marketing, Spencer Atwood in Principles of Business Administration, Bailee McCormack in Principles of Hospitality, Abbigayle Parkhurst in Principles of Marketing, and Richard Fisher and Cole Wright in Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making

 

   Third place award winners were Kensley Byrn and Lily Cook in Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making, Parker Webb in Principles of Marketing, and Lexi Harrison in Financial Consulting. Bringing home fourth place awards included Landon Witt in Entrepreneurship, Dani Ford in Principles of Hospitality and Kallie Richer in Community Giving Project. Fifth place winners were Miley Doss and Gabby Corbett in Community Giving Project.

 

   According to the national website, DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
