students accepting donations

Two clubs at the Allen County Career and Technical Center received a generous donation recently from the J.M. Smucker Co. in Scottsville.

"The J.M. Smucker Co. manufacturing facility in Scottsville, KY embraces a program that ensures our Company and non-profit organizations in our community Thrive Together.  When the facility exceeds goals in Safety, Quality and Performance, the Company makes a monetary contribution.  In November, Ben Bell, the facility’s Bakery Engineer and Young Professionals Employee Resource Group leader, along with Joe Aiken, the facility’s Director of Operations, presented the DECA and FBLA teams with a donation of $1,950.  In addition, through other charitable donation events in prior months, the plant employees donated another $1,475!  Smucker is proud to invest in our community’s young future leaders."

The donations will be used by the clubs in various ways. DECA focuses on developing the skills of aspiring marketing students while FBLA helps students in their quest to become Future Business Leaders.
