Football players, band members, local businesses, community organizations, churches, clubs, ball teams, and individuals will be a part of the annual football Homecoming parade on Thursday, October 16. The parade---relaunched two years ago after decades----will work its way from East Main Street to Patriot Stadium on the campus of Allen County-Scottsville High School. A community pep rally follows.
The AC-S Quarterback Club is organizing the event to help build community spirit and pride for the annual AC-S homecoming game. The Patriots host the Calloway County Lakers on Friday, October 17. The game caps a week of Homecoming activities at the school and includes the selection of the 2025 Homecoming Queen and Court.
Parade participants are highly encouraged to go all-out with floats, posters, and decorations. The Quarterback Club will select parade winners in separate categories for community entries and AC-SHS-Affiliated entries based on decorations in line with the parade theme of “One Town-One Team.”
The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and South 5th Street. The route will proceed westward on East Main Street to the square and turn left onto South Court Street. At the 980 intersection, the parade turns right, proceeds northwest to the 231/31-E intersection, through the intersection, and ends at Patriot Stadium.
The Quarterback Club reminds participants that no pedestrians are permitted in the parade. Participants must be riders/drivers. Floats, vehicles, horses, tractors, and ATVs are permitted but all float/vehicle drivers must have a valid driver's license. Riders should remain seated at all times.
Parade entrants may start to line-up at 4:30. The exact line-up location will be announced once a total number of participants is determined closer to the parade date. All participants must arrive by 5 p.m. and be in line and on their float/vehicle by 5:15. The parade will begin promptly at 5:30. All decorating/set-up and loading must be complete prior to departure.
The deadline to enter is Monday, October 13. The entry fee is $25 for community participants and $15 for school-affiliated participants. All AC-SHS and JEBMS football players, managers, coaches, AC-SHS and JEBMS cheerleaders, AC-SHS band Members and the 2025 Homecoming Court candidates are invited to participate at no entry cost.
Persons and/or groups desiring to participate in the parade must complete all forms and pay entry fees by Monday, October 13. Forms and fees can be submitted by mail to the AC-S Quarterback Club, P.O. Box 611, Scottsville, Kentucky. Forms and fees can also be dropped off at the Allen County Board of Education (to the attention of Stephanie Hood) or the front office at the high school (to the attention of Allison Edwards). After arrival at Patriot Stadium, the AC-SH cheerleaders and Quarterback Club officials will lead a community pep rally slated to start at 7. As a reminder, the AC-SH Student Code of Conduct extends to all extra-curricular activities and events, which includes the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally.
