The Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots completed their 2026 regular season slate of District 15 games with a split. Friday, AC-S trounced Glasgow 75-40 before falling to Barren County 75-45 on Saturday.

An ankle was the center of attention prior to Friday’s home contest with Glasgow. Early in the second half of last week’s game with Cumberland County, Lady Patriot Avery Morris suffered a lower ankle spring. The injury left her status for Friday’s game as questionable until an hour before the 6 p.m. tip. While the Lady Patriot team was fully capable of winning without her in the line-up, AC-S coaches also knew that her 29 points per game average would be missed if she could not go. Plus, a loss to Glasgow could set up a clash with Glasgow on their home floor in the district tournament. However, AC-S trainer Andy Vickery cleared Morris to go after watching Morris workout before the game.

Morris started but was not the story in the game as much as that of her senior teammate Debora Parick. Perhaps knowing that her role could loom very large, Patrick was prepared to answer the call. She would score a career-high 29 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Patrick was 13 of 17 from the floor and a perfect three-of-three at the foul line. Patrick’s double-double was also the 19th of her career.

Morris responded to the adversity as well by supporting Patrick and her teammates. The junior added 23 points, had six rebounds, and dished out a career-high 12 assists. Her double-double in points and assists was the second time she had double figures in both in a game.

The play of Patrick and Morris was supplemented by Lady Patriot starters Kyra Marr, Addy Law, and Allison Ford. Marr contributed seven points and a career-high nine rebounds. Ford scored three points with Law putting five points and six rebounds in the books.

AC-S led 14-10 after the first quarter and 29-24 at the half. However, a 28-5 third period broke things open. The Lady Patriots won the fourth period 18-11 to secure the win.

Shooting wise, AC-S made 27 of their 44 shots for a 61.4% mark---one of their highest of the season. At the line, the Lady Patriots were 17 of 25. AC-S outrebounded Glasgow 45-21.

Saturday night would see the Barren County Trojanettes---the top-ranked team in Region 4---run past the short-handed Lady Patriots.

In an effort to give her ankle a rest, Morris did not play following the recommendation of the coaching staff and Vickery. Recognizing that her services would be vital down the road, Morris was not in uniform for the first time since missing two games in the 2024 Lady Invitational of the South.

Morris’ teammates played solid but could not counter the multi-player attack of the Trojanettes. Barren County led 21-9 after the first quarter and 34-20 at halftime. A 30-16 third period opened the game before the Trojanettes pulled away for the 30-point win.

Patrick led the Lady Patriots with 17 points. Law added 11 points, had five rebounds, and handed out four assists. Ford chipped in seven points.

Overall, it was not a bad night shooting the rock for AC-S. The team made 15 of their 33 shots (45.5%) and went 13 of 17 at the line. Barren County was 27-71 from the floor and 14 of 16 at the line. The Trojanettes (22-2) outrebounded the Lady Patriots 38-26 and forced 21 AC-S turnovers.

AC-S (15-7) faces LaRue County (7-14), Russellville (6-8), and Greenwood (11-11) this week. Next week, AC-S closes the regular season with an away game at South Warren (7-14) and the home finale versus Clinton County (7-13) on February 19.
